The conspiracy to kidnap and murder Kunal (15), the innocent son of Dhaba operator Krishna Kumar Sharma in Beta-2 police station area of Greater Noida, was hatched by his cousin Manoj a month ago. The murderers had committed the crime on May 1. Manoj’s motive behind Kunal’s murder was to grab his dhaba and the amount of Rs 25.5 lakh. Since after the murder of Kunal, all his objectives seemed to be fulfilled. Due to these reasons, the accused killed Kunal by banging his head against the wall after identifying him and protesting in the flat of JP Vistown, Noida Sector-128.
The police had arrested Himanshu Chaudhary, resident of village Agouta of Bulandshahr police station and Kunal Bhati, resident of village Dadha of police station Kasna, who were involved in the incident, on Wednesday night. Whereas on Thursday, the main accused and cousin of the deceased Kunal, Manoj Sharma, a resident of Madaiya in Maycha, and Himanshu’s girlfriend Tanvi, a MBBS student from Rohtak, were arrested. Tanvi is a fourth year medical student at Maulana Azad Medical College, Delhi.
In a press conference at the Deputy Commissioner of Police office in Knowledge Park on Thursday, Joint Commissioner Bablu Kumar told that Manoj had bought Shiva Dhaba from his uncle Krishna Sharma by taking Rs 23 lakh. Due to which it completely belonged to Manoj Sharma. After taking Rs 23 lakh on interest, due to not being able to pay the interest for several months, Manoj made Krishna Sharma Kumar his partner. Seeing Manoj’s careless attitude, Krishna Sharma asked for his money and when he did not get the amount, he took over the dhaba. After this, Krishna Sharma started running it along with his son Kunal. Manoj has a friend, Himanshu, resident of Bulandshahr and he had also come to the dhaba. It was through Manoj that Himanshu got Rs 2.5 lakh on interest from Krishna Sharma. However, as a guarantee, he had mortgaged his Brezza car in lieu of it.
A month ago, Manoj along with his friend Himanshu, Kunal Bhati, resident of Dadha village and his female friend Tanvi, resident of Haryana-Rohtak, had made a plan that if Kunal Sharma was killed, Krishna Sharma would be left alone. After this the dhaba will come back to Manoj and the people involved in the murder will also be made partners. Due to this the murder was carried out. Himanshu asked a friend, resident of Bulandshahr, for his Skoda car. To mislead the police, the accused installed black film and stickers on this car and even changed the number plate. The evidence was tampered with so that the investigators remained misled. On the day of the incident, Manoj was standing some distance away from the incident site and watching everything. Whereas the three accused including MBBS student Tanvi carried out the kidnapping incident.
